Crystal Laura (Ph.D., RYT-200) is a Chicago-bred university professor, vegan foodie, and a registered yoga teacher. She began practicing vinyasa yoga in 2009 to prepare her mind and body for the birth of her first child, continued through a second pregnancy in 2012, and has practiced alongside two little yogis ever since. Crystal became a certified yoga teacher in 2016 to offer to others the mental, physical, and social benefits that she has experienced as a yoga practitioner. At Mettle Fitness, she leads Saturday morning Slow Flow Yoga, an hourlong class suitable for beginners that focuses on calming the mind, tuning into breath, while stretching and strengthening all of the major muscle groups. In Crystal’s classes, students can expect a good workout, good music, and good energy–always.
